Massachusetts Foreclosures Increasing in 2012

Statewide in Massachusetts, petitions to foreclose have risen 64% year to date vs. the equivalent time frame in 2011, according to the Warren Group. This is the highest level of foreclosure petitions in 2 years. Completed foreclosures (aka foreclosure deeds) also rose 19%. The Warren Group believes an increase was to be expected due to low levels of foreclosure activity in 2011. There is still a signficiant backlog of "distressed properties."

Email Servers Have Been Successfully Upgraded

Our email server had been getting older and had been slowing down appreciably. Because of this we have now upgraded our email server to a new server and operating system.

Some of the benefits are as follows:

1) Email system is running much faster and at a higher overall performance level.

2) Webmail, which was extremely slow on the old system (painfully so), is now running well, functioning as it should be.

3) We are able to run the newer versions of anti-spam software that we use (these versions of the software were not supported on the previous server). These newer versions have some features that we believe will help us to reduce the amount of spam mail customers receive.

New Timeline for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Short Sales

Starting on June 15th, short sale offers on distressed properties backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will receive a response within 30-60 days. Lack of a response to short sale offers in a timely manner has long been a frustration for real estate agents and alleviating this complaint is one of the objectives of the new policy.
